John's gospel was written to present the divine nature of Jesus. There are over 40 places where the original language makes that claim apparent, though many of them do not "show up" in English very well.

Yes Jesus and GOD are one and we are one with Jesus.
All this is awesome. So we are all in line with GODs will. That is the plan. That's how it was in the garden of Eden.

Some people apply worldly view to the reference "Ye are GOD's" And view it as "We can create our own universe" OK this sounds good but Lucifer already tried it. It didn't work to good. Also If you are an independent God then tonight before you go to bed do not leave instructions for the world. If it is still running when you wake up. You are not your own God.

I hope that is what you were getting at.

2. Few people are going to bother to look that up. If you want an opinion on that verse, you should include what it says in your question.
