it is called sectarian violence and the clerics who failed to educate the illiterate people about their religion are responsible for it. why do you confine this question to Islam only? in Hindu religion, the upper caste people massacre the daliths. the untouchables in the name of caste.

People within these ethnic groups have been killing each other for a very long time. Sadaam's group was one of the worst. Now that he is gone, part of the problem is retribution. I do not believe the ones doing the killing are really Muslims. They may claim to be, but they clearly don't follow the teachings.
