I have purchased a Freightliner 18 wheeler, a 2000 Explorer, a Taurus, and a Conversion Van from EBay. I was never disappointed. It is important to do some good research on the vehicle value and ask all the questions concerning the condition of the vehicle. Ask for pictures of the vehicle you feel are important to your decision. Review the feedback of the person you are dealing with. Don't buy right away. Research a number of ads for what you want over several days. See what they are selling for and their respective condition. Then make your decision.

several of my friends bought cars off eBay - two Chrysler minivans, a Mazda sedan, a 1970 Jaguar roadster and a 1969 Triumph roadster. All of them were good purchases. I almost did but the seller and I couldn't agree on price. He came down to my price a month later but I already found another car in the paper. I may buy off eBay when I'm in the market for another car.

my friend bought a corsa on ebay, guy drove it up for her took money and give her a bogus moblie number. When she phoned insurance company they informed her it had been a rightoff and already had a payout. Think that means her insurance wound cost more but if it was in aother crash or was stolen they wound'nt pay out much.
Car itself has replaced body parts on it but she said its a lovely little runner.
So just be carefull and get a full cheak up on car before buying!

I purchased a 1973 VW Beetle sight unseen off eBay.

It was a mistake.

The Seller was a liar.

I would not recommend buying a car off eBay unless:

1) you can live with the mistake comfortably

2) you can recoup your payment to the seller if the seller lies.

Pay Pal was ABSOLUTELY NO HELP WHATSOEVER!

I have bought several things, including cars and trucks off of e-bay. They were all good experiences. But it is like any other transaction, you need to think it thru before bidding.
