Do they get points if I go? Why do they raise their hands up? Are they soaking up the God rays? Whats all this with the flame on their heads? Is it really a good idea to light your head on fire? Why do they feel that their church, founded maybe 100 years ago, is the "Right" church.

Because you are some kind of a trophy for them. They feel they "won" a soul and they feel good about it. Yes, they're just around 100 years old and although they talk about the Bible like they own it, they don't really have their own translation of it, relying instead on the mainstream protestants' Bible. Yet they call themselves THE real christians---like cowboys with no cows.

Good question and I have a solution for you. It may not be the best for you but it worked for me OK.

Find a whole new group of people to be around. Get new friends from the Baptist church, the Catholic church, and maybe some Jehovah witness friends. That way you would not be invited to a Pentecostal and other fundamental churches. This new group woukl invite you to their church.

Now serious, its human nature to want other to join them in what they do. It makes them feel more right in their choices and it also allows for more support in many ways if they do need something in the future. You see if you are one of the boys, it kinda hard to say NO to another one of the boys OK.

I do have a suggestion. Wear a big name tag that says "I am a preacher" If you talk to me I will preach you a sermon and only charge you $100 per hour." I am sure no one will stop you to talk to you thus there will be no invitations. Besides seldom is a preacher of a different faith invited to preach or teach in a church that is not his own faith.

I surer hope I did help you with these options. Oh yes, I got more like do not take a bath for a month, Use smell like a pig farm perfume, etc., etc.

Just too many solutions to the problem and that is easier than trying to second guess all those people who do invite you to seek out their driving forces behind those invitations.

You pick the one you like and then just smile as you see the results OK.

P.S. this is just my opinion so you can reject all the suggestions if youlike OK

Do have a great day my friend.

Well, first off I am the "other fundamentalists" and a far cry from the Pentecostals, Please don't label us together. I agree with you and when the church has been around for 2000 years it's pretty brazen to be declaring yourself the right church when you are only 100 years old. In Romans 10 it speaks about those who "have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge." I think the Bible nails them right on the head. I respect their zeal but when it comes to following the Bible that are right out to lunch. In their zeal they are trying to reach out to you and are probably well meaning in that but they have let their emotions run all over them until it leads into physic experiences and you find them rolling on the floor and barking like dogs, and they call that being spirit filled. If you are serious about learning about God read your Bible.

they ask you to go to church b/c they are concerned with your soul. They do all those other things b/c that is their style of worship. You may not be comfortable with that particular style. I'll be honest, I am a Christian, but I don't worship in a Pentecostal church b/c it makes me uncomfortable. I would suggest that you find a good, Bible teaching church that you feel comfortable in and go.

Everyone of all religions are vying for converts. It's sort of like Bowling for Jesus. The one that wins the most souls over gets the best seat at the feast.
