- i CAN'T ask him out myself- very complicated- I would flirt, but i have no clue how. So far I think the thought of him falling for me is pretty far from his mine- but not so out of the question... any ideas

Maybe being yourself is the road to his heart..

You need to act, at least, to hint that you are interested in him! Of course, there still have chance that he may fall for you if you are his type. However, you can help to faster get closer to him if you proactive a bit and do something small. For ex, go up and ask him questions which you know he knows the answer. And, of course, he will talk a bit. Then, praise him a bit' wow you are an expert! Hmmdo you mind if I ask you this kinda questions again?'. Sure he will say ' no problem'...and then exchange cellphone number!Action like this is helpful. At least, he knows you know that he exists! And if he is interested, he may even call u up (and that's what I said 'help to get closer to him faster).
Also, you can have excuse to ask him out. For ex, 'hey u have helped me a lot, I owe you a dinner'. And in the dinner just talk about personal stuff and get to know him more.
As a guy, I think this is a good way to get approached. I won't feel stressed to make a new friend. If I am interested, I will make some moves from there.

easiest way is try to make a few eye contacts a day and after few days ask something.
