to hypnotise u and scare u to death so u do anything he wants u to do.
if he is doing it to keep ur attention whatever he's saying must be pretty boring

Not true. Some pastors and preachers do not scream, such as Joel Osteen and D. James Kennedy. As for the pastors and preachers who scream, I think that it's okay for them to scream if they're good and have a point to make, such as T.D. Jakes. If they don't, though, it's very annoying to me because they're no substance in the message.

Not all of them scream. Some are very passionate about what they preach, certain groups are louder then others. I grew up catholic and they did not scream or yell a lot. Usually the service was very serene and except for prayers or the hymns, everybody was quiet. I went to a baptist funeral for a friend and that was an interesting experience.

They don't scream, they just talk loud. They want to make sure you all hear and understand them. You would complain too, if they would just whisper. They also want to make sure the bar hoppers , don't fall asleep, while the sermon is being said. Some people have been know to fall asleep while coming off a hangover. So many reason's. If they scare you, then hopefully, you are listening to what they are saying. REPENT!!!

They don't always scream. At least in my church they don't. They change the volume a little bit to emphasize an idea. It is not about money either. We can't generalize all people in one category, just because some use religion to get money for themselves. Again, not everybody is the same.

Mostly the TV evangelists. It looks bad if the guy in the front row falls asleep on TV.

LOL....It's actually to keep your attention and intice passion about the subject material.
Some teachers do it too....you might be scared but your mind doesn't wander...does it?

Joel Osteen doesn't scream. I am not religious but he seems like a pretty reasonable guy. The screamers are spooky.

Well that is their intention, to scare the hell out of you and keep you awake.
I'm not much into fire and brimstone myself. Trivia: Saint Augustine (the inventor of 'original sin' was the original fire and brimstone man.
