Ingredients
4 quarts popped corn
1-1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
8 ounces of carmel squares, unwrapped.

Mix popped corn and peanuts in large roaster. Set aside. In a heavy bowl microwave the carmel squares, 30 seconds at a time, until they are melted and just start to bubble. Pour over popcorn and stir to coat well. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and stir several times as mixture cools. Store in a tightly-covered container.

Makes: 4-1/2 quarts.

Those caramels are designed to stay soft and chewy, adn will not harden on popcorn unless a bunch of granulated sugar is added. It has to do w/ the type of sugar that is in teh Kraft caramels. I think you'd be better off makign your own caramel corn by using brown sugar (even shite sugar will work), butter, little salt, and vanilla.
