pusan/busan is the harbor port for south korea. the majority of the area is lower middle class but nice. you'll find nice apartment buildings there as well as dirty azz hoods just like back here in america. majority of the area is sea oriented so expect lots of seafood and that salty ocean air. americans are well liked for the most part. you may encounter some dirty looks or whatever but that's to be expected. pretty much anywhere is s korea is cheap. except the housing. most places are pretty steep especially near the seoul area. food is rather inexpensive and so tasty. you will enjoy it there and cheju island is not that far away. it's the honeymooners hot spot for korean folk.

The cost of living is a lot lower than in the U.S. Yes, Pusan is safe. Pusan is a city, but its not nearly as developed as Seoul. There are a lot of poorer areas in Pusan.

I don't look a bit like the guy in the picture, and I've never been to Pusan, but I have lived in South Korea. I'm an American. Koreans are my favorite people in the world. Is is safe? As far as crime is concernerd, it's much safer than America, but of course crime exists everywhere. Traffic accidents are another matter. I love Koreans, but they drive like five-year-olds and the police are far too polite to object. The country is very crowded and mountainous, which means there is not much flat land to devote to highways. What you lose in crime you gain in traffic accidents. Food is not cheap.

The Koreans live in a country they call hanguk. They have a beautiful alphabet called hangugmal, but so far as I know, they have no word for alphabet. Hangugmal means Korean writing. I learned to read Korean in two hours. The way they write puts our method to shame.

You have only one life to live. GO!!!

You must be in the Air Force.
I've never been there myself, but my dad was there. From what I hear, it's pleasant enough. Though I'm sure you'll be pretty far from the city. Generally, I think the Koreans... tolerate.. the American forces there. They know they need us. But every now and then some soldiers there goof up and do some really horrible to some Koreans (such as raping Korean women). My advice would be to be careful, don't go out in the city alone, and please obey the laws there. Other than that, enjoy your time overseas and thanks for serving.

I'm sorry I couldn't more specifically answer your questions.
