I don't know. Maybe those who feel that way (and I know it's not the majority of Christians) feel threatened by anyone else who believes something different. That a Menorah represents an end to their way of life, when in actuality it just means that someone believes something else.

Sunflare, Under God was added in the middle of the last century during the communist scare. If you didn't believe in the Christian god you were unamerican and communist.
This country was started so that EVERYONE can worship how they wanted, not just the Christians. Otherwise that would have been in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

It's freedom "of" religion, not "from" religion. What's being banned? The practice of prayer at school events and ceremonies. The teaching of creationism or intelligent design along with evolution. Telling employees and teachers that it is not "politically correct" to say Merry Christmas? Are we being told what we can say and not say? The ACLU witch hunt of displays of the ten commandments or crosses in public areas. They are even trying to change history books for crying out loud. Censorship is wrong. Period.
The majority of the people in America are Christian. Why should they be restricted from expressing their opinions and beliefs by the few who feel they have been wronged, or feel that religion is being crammed down their throats. It is not. They don't have an agenda to be accepted, like the gays and other minority fringe groups. They simply are the largest segment of the population.
It's like if the majority of the people speak English, then one should not feel offended when others speak English in front of them, or feel that English is being crammed down their throat. It is the norm in that society. Get over it. They should not insist on censoring English and/or enact laws to prevent expressing anything English. It will not prevent English from being spoken and it's ridiculous to think that any laws passed by "sympathetic" judges will truly make a difference. The people will continue to speak English regardless.

We also have the freedom to teach in the street or where ever we care too. It's up to you if you want to listen.
As for shoving it into anyones face, I don't believe I do. I've never taken a hostage. I do tell as many folks as I can about how God saved and healed me and no law that anyone way bring will ever change that. Like it or not, no one has to listen.
We are worth a Son to God.
I'll praise Him everywhere Always.

I'm not clear what you mean by "shoving your religion in people's faces." Could you please give an example? Christians airing their views about religion is protected under the First Amendment. It may annoy you, it may offend you, but that's what happens when you live in a country that allows freedom of speech. There's no right not to be offended or irritated.

Because Christians believe they have the one and only true religion. They can't figure out why not everyone believes what they do. I guess they want everyone to see the world the way they do. They should, however, be thankful they live in a country where they can practice their religion without worrying on whether or not they will be killed for it.

Because the Bible say to preach the word to the WHOLE WORLD and tell them about Jesus, so that they to can be saved. If I had a million dollars and I wanted to share it with you, would you be mad at me? well saving your soul from hell is worth more then a million dollars, so If someone is trying to give you something thats worth so much more then a million dollars, why are so many people mad at them?

As a matter of fact it is being attacked on virtually every front. For evidence of this go to ACLJ.com.
No one is shoving anything in your face. If religious expression offends you then its you shoving your face in it and not vice versa.

Why should we have to hide our religious beliefs? You're free to turn the channel, walk away, or avoid Christians altogether.
Not all Christians are "in your face" about their beliefs. I'll tell someone what I believe and why, but I prefer to wait until they ask.
In fact, my favorite quote (attributed to St. Francis) is, "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary."

Because they are insecure and need some other sucker next to them say "Praise Jesus"...lol. Not all Christians are this way - but the Extremist out weigh the decent ones. Maybe we should go back to burning people at the stake.
