It saves gas money, other than that really nothing. I used to hate taking the bus to school, especially if none of your friends are on the same bus as you. Plus it's very easy for kids to get bullied on the bus, because the bus driver is occupied with driving.

So they don't get tired out! Most kids today are lazy, and would take the bus, even if the school were across the street. I had to walk over a mile to school each day. AND it WAS uphill BOTH WAYS! Honest to God! I lived in a town that was literally all hills.

It saves gas money when the gas prices are high. Saves waiting in car pool line at the school for your child to come to the car. Gives a chance to prepare an after school snack. Ability to get some more work done around the house done.

They get to be picked on, taught curse words, and maybe can end up getting felt up on busses. I do not let my kids on the school busses. Bus drivers cannot drive those busses and watch all those kids - around here the kids sometimes sit 3 to a seat! That's insane!

If they live more than 3 miles away, it might get them there a little faster than walking, or riding a bike. (something called EXERCISE that so many kids seem to get so little of) If they live less than 3 miles away, they should walk, to work off the McD's cheeseburgers, Coke and french fries they had for dinner the night before.
