There are some beautiful religious tattoos - just be careful what you choose - make sure you see lots of examples of the artist work. Getting a tattoo is like a spiritual experience in itself. It take a lot of thought, since it is permanent is not a decision to be made lightly and then the pain that goes with it. Where you are looking to get yours you can cover up quite easily for those who are anal-retentive about body art in workplaces and such.
If you take care of your tat and with the new pigments today they will continue to look beautiful throughout your life.
Plain skin is like a canvas to an artist.

It's not sinful in itself, but probably not advisable. Those things are permanent and don't look too good as your skin ages. Think it through carefully. In the meantime, couldn't you just wear a cross on a chain or something? Just to make sure you like always having a cross on you before you make it permanent.

No.
I'm not qualified just a layman, and a sinner, but...
Jesus said, well I don't remember it correctly, but it went along the lines that putting things IN (or ON) your body will NOT produce sins, SINS come WITHIN - from your deciding to NOT do the correct thing on purpose. WILLINGLY being bad.
So have fun, too painful for me to think about.

No, it is not.
Skin is just dust of the Earth, do what u want to it.
The inside of a person's mind and heart is what matters in the long run.
Tattoos sound great, military folks get them all the time.

Some religions consider it a mutilation of the human body that will keep the tattooed person from arising when the messiah comes.

Personally I would say no it is not.
There are some religions who would say it defiles the temple of the body.
Frankly, you might want to give it serious thought. Once you have that tattoo, it IS FOR LIFE, unless you have serious surgery. Also if it visible, many employers will not hire you.
