Drinking is fun because we humans like to "unwind" and let loose with our morals and principles. By drinking alcohol, we can coast through a night on pure instinct and humility. Drinking is almost a competition, by whoever is drinking trying to out-drink everyone else, thereby "unwinding" and having fun.

When I was drunk once, I was really mad about something and punched, really hard, an innocent passerby in the stomach. I immediately felt bad, and then gave him $10. That's not my style to do that. The punch, that is.
