i love going out to dinner with my parents, or just an evening at their house watching tv. longer periods of time are wearing on me. but i do love being with them.

I love my parents dearly but they're my parents, not my friends, my homies, my buddies, mi amigos.. nothing of the sort. I love them for the strength they've given me and for the things they've provide me with however our age difference would give us nothing to really "hang out" with.

I live upstairs from my parents and I def. don't hang out with them all the time. You need a break and chances are they need a break as well..

Absolutely not. I'm living with my retired mother just now (between jobs) not by choice!
I think it unnatural for you to want to do this too.
