Several gay/homosexual groups proposed opening a school which paid special attention to the needs of their children. Should preferences be given to the members of the previosly mentioned groups so that their proposal becomes reality? Should sexual preferences be a factor utilized in the decision making process of educational alternatives?

I don't think so, because sexuality is not as big of an issue as it is for adults later on in life. That is not to say that the notion of homosexuality should be ignored or denigrated in schools, however. But, I don't see it as a factor that affects one's educational experiences in school--maybe social experiences to some degree there--but not curricular concerns.

Almost any group of people has the opportunity to start a private school in any state. By all means the groups of people you mentioned should have the same opportunities that everyone else has.

Should tax-payer dollars go to fund it? That's an entirely different question. If tax dollars don't go to funding any other private schools, there is no reason to use them for this purpose.
