Please help.... I am receiving conflicting information. I would especially appreciate the Jewish perspective on this.

It was an actual goat, to take the blame / the sins on it. The Hebrew word is azazel, and means the goat of removal. This goat takes the sins and removes them from the temple.

Deb F explains it short and simple. This was an Atonement for sin and was good for one year, if, I remember correct. You ask for a Jewish Perspective, so, there may not be a mention of Jesus, unless a Jew for Jesus is available. I would like to hear their thoughts.
