I'm 15, 5'2 and weigh about 105 pounds. I really want abs, but I was reading up on it and people always mention that u just have to "loose the weight " and stuff. But the problem is, i am already skiny and I'm afraid that if I worked out i'd loose weight and i don't want to loose too much weight cuz then I think i'd be way too skiny, I just want to be more toned. So i was wondering what I can do to get a more toned body without loosing alot of weight??

Do pilates. That is what I do. When was your age, I am also five foot two, and weight about what you do, but now that I'm 19, I'm 120, which I like. But that's not the point. The point is no you shouldn't loose weight...not healthy! I have a question for you. Do you intentionally try to make yourself this thin? Whether you want to admit to it or not, do you find yourself purposely watching how much and what you eat all the time, to the point of obsession? Now you sound find for your age, because when your younger you tend to be a little thinner, but I wouldn't worry about staying that weight forever. Anyway, I felt the same way at your age, I wanted abs too, but didnt' think I should loose weight, or too much weight. Girl, just don't loose weight at all. Dont' make the stupid decision I made to loose 5 pounds on purpose because I wanted to be 95 instead of 100 pounds, oh my!! 100 pounds!! Alot of girls really worry needlessly about their weight. Don't do the same. But doing pilates is different, you should get toned, in more than just your abs! And you won't be loosing weight, hopefully. Good luck. I would reccommend Crunch Pick Your Spot Pilates. The case is purple. Good Luck! This has done me wonders!!

Doesn't sound like you need to loose weight. As a teen it's important for you to eat good, healthy food. You're smart not to want to be too skinny. As far as toning and strengthening your abs, sit-ups and crunches are good. Make sure you are doing them correctly and engaging your abdominal muscles and not using your back or rocking. You can probably talk with a coach or PE teacher at your school and have them check your form to make sure you are using the right muscles. Then just do them every day - I do 50 to 100 depending on how much time I have.

If you want to take it a step further, go to your local YMCA and take a pilates or balance ball class to learn some more specific ab exercises.

Good luck and stay strong!

muscle actually weighs more, so if you are thin chances are that you will gain muscle weight, the actual toning and machine exercises will bulk you up, its the cardio that will thin you down, you need to do cardio also, but not as much as someone looking to lose weight. But if you are dedicated and workout correctly at a gym the chances are good that you will gain a little, but if you start to lose, you have to adjust your caloric intake, and usually working out will make you hungry a trainer can direct to what is the best way the workout will get you the results you are after. Good luck

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

If you exercise you wont look unhealthy. If you like the way you look then you will only improve. Dont get scared if you weigh more because muscle weighs more then fat. If you dont have fat then you will just get toned. Dont worry about it. The only way you will get that ugly skinny look is if your anorexic. Guys like a healthy toned girl.

Run sprints (50, 100, or 150-yards).

Working your abs doesn't reveal them faster than burning the fat that hides them. You won't lose weight; you'll be very hungry.
