If you'll do a search on these two sites you should be able to get a very good idea of what your rifle is selling for...If you take a minute and sign up on GB(the usual user name and password) you can then search your rifles sales for the past 90 days, under the member feature - "going going gone"

Bound's hubby here:

The Savage 99 had several sub-models in 250 Savage (250-3000). Depending upon model, age, and condition the value can vary. The Savage 99 is currently an orphan and the 250 Savage may be of low interest to hunters. Appraisal by a gunsmith would be your best bet. You should be able to get at least $275 for a Model 99 in good to very good "hunter's" condition.

If you provide more detail, it could be helpful.

Well, that's a very tricky question to answer. There's AT LEAST 15 or 16 different variations of the 99 chambered in .250-300. You can maybe get someone to figure it out (or at least narrow it down) on here if you can provide the barrel length, a detailed description of the checkering, any other markings anywhere on the gun, where the safty is located, describe the barrel band, and what the butt looks like. Some of them get fairly valuable, but in any case I wouldn't expect one over a grand. In the rarer variations they get pretty condition sensative too. It's also gotta be in original condition to be worth a whole lot, by that I mean the stock can't be refinished, the barrel can't be reblued, and it can't be fooled around with in any way. Even if you have pictures a 99 Savage can be a TOUGH thing to apraise if you don't actually have it in front of you, and even then I gotta look things up, they get really confusing. Sorry, but I want you to know I don't think you'll get a very accurate appraisal on here.
