It depends on who your audience is.

If it's your peers, you might say, "The one who detected it, ejected it."

If it's in a formal setting, the correct statement is, "I'm sorry, I have inadvertently passed wind." The proper response to that is, "let's go to another room where it is less chilly." At that point you excuse yourself to the facility.

The one place where no excuse is necessary is a public bathroom. If you listen to the number of double flushers , you will see that some even get embarassed in that circumstance.

I farted really loud in the classroom and there was a dirty person that dont really take a bath sitting right beside me so when everyone looked at me i said it was him
