I tend to get bleeding noses alot, mainly in the summer. Is there anything I can do to stop them myself from happening all the time, or should I be seeing a doctor in case its serious?

It is caused from a small vein that is near the surface inside the nose, located at the inner membrane. Placing rolled paper under the upper lip is a quick stop method. If the problem persists, you may need to be prescribed allergy medication, since an allergy usually triggers the blood letting in the summer and early fall.

Always see a doctor to make sure there is nothing abnormal. You need to se a Ear, Nose Throat specialist. I had bloody noses a lot and the doctor found it was a sinus polyp. In the mean time keep your nasal membranes moist with saline nasal spray. Allergies and/or certain medications dries your nose out causing bleeding. But get checked first. By the way....Since the doc removed the polyp no nose bleeds for me. Other things can cause nose bleeds = high blood pressure or snoring cocaine

Nose bleeding is always serious. First of all tilt your head forward when you pinch your nose that will help the blood to run out instead of into your stomach. Second of all you need to see a doctor because you may need some tested done. Third don't take any medicine like Ibuprofen because its a blood thinner. Fourth sleep with a humidifier in your room and that may help.

I have never gotten a nose bleed from an anime, but some of the animes I watch the characters get nose bleeds if you want to count that. When's the last time you got a nose bleed? During math class last year when I was doing a test, that was kind of embarrasing. --anime question-- what's your favorite anime charries saying? (if they have one) Momo I dont think has one. :-P

Yes, it may cause cancer in a seriously position. But don't worry, I have this experience ten year ago. The bleeding nose mostly are eating too much fire food, late sleeping, too much caffeine, dry weather, nose skin thin and easily to break off. To protest it not bleeding again, is to rub on Vaseline. Using ice-pack to put on forehead, calm down and breathe in a lot of air and hold. Sleep well and drink 8 cup of water or skim milk.

The reason your nose often bleeds in the summer is because it becomes dry with the lack of humidity in the air. Also you may be affected by some mild summer pollens wich can also dry out the delicate tissues of your nose. An easy solution to this problem is to sleep with a humidifier in your room. Also you may find it helpful to increase your intake of water. As a last resort you can also use a Q-tip to gently aply a thin layer of vaseline in each or just one of your nostrils.

It's actually very common for nosebleeds when the air is dry so I wouldn't be too concerned, but you should ask your doctor if you are. Instead of just holding your nose, try putting some ice on the back of your neck and leaning forward. Roll up some gauze and put in under your upper lip and on top of it as well. Hope that helps

1. Don't take ibuprofen (advil), aspirin, or other blood thinners.

2. Use a humidifier to keep the nasal membranes moist.

3. Don't snort anything up your nose (it irritates the lining).

4. Drink more water to make certain you are hydrated.

5. When pinching your nose closed, lean your head forward instead of backward so as to prevent the blood from running into your stomach.

6. If these suggestions don't work, definitley go see your doctor. My husband had to have some of his vessels in his nose cauterized because it bled everytime it got bumped, which was pretty often, considering he's a martial arts instructor.
