Holy [expletive deleted]! One of the most important steps on the road to atheism, is to read the Bible. And if you had actually looked at the words on the page, in John, Ch 9, v1 through 3, you would see that Jesus does not mention ANYTHING about the man being punished for any bad thing, in his current or previous lives. King James Version (KJV) Ch 9, v1 " And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." ------------ It appears that you have done what thousands of others have done before you. You took a dimly remembered utterance, and claimed that Jesus said thus-and-such, even though the Bible says Jesus did not. And the saddest part is that, when they were putting together THE Bible, from a lot of writings, several centuries after Jesus was no longer walking the Earth, the Council of Nicaea may have included stuff that sounded good, but which Jesus actually never said.

Being blind does not mean he/she cannot see. Blind man, like Bartimaeus in the Bible, could see the answer through the depths of his/her heart. From there, he/she could see Jesus who is The Way,The Truth and The Life. Blind persons are sometimes better to those who can see because those who can see maybe blind as they struggle day-to-day for reward and recognition and blind to the miseries of the world.
