I always closed the door when I lived alone. Now, I live with one other person, and I still close the door when I'm alone. Weird, huh?

None of my doors are closed and I live alone. The only time I have closed the bathroom door was when punishing my cat, or that week when the a/c blower installed above the shower was rattling like mad all night.
One time when I got a new bed set I shut the bedroom door so the cat wouldn't play on it while I was at work. I came home and she put a nice pile of poopie in front of the door, obviously on purpose. I never did it again. I mean, it was her apartment. She just let me live there because I could open cans.

Yes, unless I have to go really bad.
There's nothing weird about that. Think about how long you've been going to the bathroom and closing the door. Closing the door has become a routine habit, almost an instinct. You don't consciously think about it each time you do it.

I live alone and never close the door when I'm using the toilet (unless I have company), but I always close it to shower. That has to be super weird.

After 25 years of marriage I never close the door unless guests are there..and the cats then beg to come in. It all comes down to personal choice. My parents never closed the door but we kids were always taught to knock before entering the bathroom. Have a good one! :)

I close the door when I shower because my bathroom doesn't have an effective air circulation system and I don't want my studio apartment to get steamy, but I leave it open when I use the toilet.

That's not weird, it's your habit!
I never, ever close the bathroom door when I am alone.
When I go to someone's house and I close the bathroom door, it feels claustrophobic.
