No one can "die" for anyone's "sins". The idea is ludicrous.

You are quoting over used sections from the bible that have no effect what so ever on someone that does not belive it anyway. Consider speaking Spanish to a Italian person. Sure some of the basic words are close enough that the Italian person will understand but you still think you are crazy for trying to talk to them and if you want to convert them then you are basicly Bow hunting without any arrows. THe whole idea is that you can not convert people unless they want to be converted. Either that or you can forcefully convert like the Christian did to the Indians or the Irish did to the Pagans.

I think that those are quotes from a book, nothing more. I can do that too, see.

Hemingway:
"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are stronger at the broken places"

John Donne
"Death be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so. For, those, whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow. Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me"

Gandhi
"The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated"

These quotes are more meaningful to me than any of the quotes you listed above. I do not believe in a god/gods. I believe in kindness, acceptance, and tolerance of/for all. Religion does not teach that, morals teach that.

You know what I think?

I think some 15 year old is trying to prove to me that God exists by using a book that I don't believe is true. I think that some 15 year old is trying to prove to me that a loving God exists by telling me that I'm going to be burning in hell forever if I don't agree with him.

But hey, that's just my opinion. Nobody knows much about the universe, including me, you, and even the people who wrote the book you just quoted.

Oh no! A book says I will be tormented for eternity while you lstay in paradise.

There are many other religions in the world. How do you know that yours is right and others are wrong? Maybe belief in a false deity (Jesus perhaps) could lead to eternal damnation.

I think your book sucks and is made up to show the rest of the world what true bigots look like. OH, and if we went by your book, God impregnanted a young girl without her consent (True she said it was a blessing to Gabriel AFTER she was already knocked up) which means your God is a rapist and a pedophile. I would rather sit in your hell then have you continually slam out garbage like this. And if your God existed, he would probably send you to hell for being such small minded. Thank you have a nice day.

Let them believe what they want, Jack. Religion is a private matter. As long as someone is not using it as a pretext for violence or discrimination of other groups, they can ignore or believe what they want, from me!

Yes, the spirit can revive for anyone, anytime... right from near-death back into the life. Hey dig_digi2. :-)

i think you can't prove something using something that an atheist holds in question. you can't prove god exists by saying it is written down that god has said he exists. if that did make it "fact" you could prove anything you wanted to by writing it down. i got a spam email telling me i could be making 25,000 dollars a day, that doesn't mean its true. well of course not you might be thinking, that is 100% different. is it though? if i really really believe that the spam email is correct and i tell you it is true and prove it by showing you the email, does that prove it?

atheists are not unaware of the bible or what it says, in fact they are often very well versed in it, and have made their decision based on what they have read in it and many other things.
so its rather a mute point to try to convice someone with one of the very things they do not believe what you believe it is.
