Antibiotics alone are only good as an emergency measure for a very short period of time. Sometimes different antibiotics work better depending on the microbes involved. Sometimes they don't work at all due to microbial resistance.
***You should have definitive treatment ASAP i.e. extraction or root canal therapy.***
Many antibiotics will cause some nausea, especially if you haven't been feeling well to start with and haven't been eating well. If the antibiotics are amoxycillin, then they can be taken with food. Most others work best on an empty stomach. Read the directions or ask a pharmacist. Keep up your fluids.

Yes you will feel better but it will take more than a few hours. Did the dentist tell you to take your antibiotics with food so they don't upset your stomach? Did he tell you it might help to swish warm salt water around in your mouth but not to swallow it? Laying with a warm moist towel wrapped in plastic pressed on your check would help you to feel better too.

If you don't feel better in two days, call your dentist and demand to speak to him. If temperature or shaking chills, go to an emergency room.
