To my knowledge, there are no studies that indicate that the topical application of Vitamin E (i.e. in liquid form) actually benefits the hair specifically. Skin is a whole other issue.

That being said, I typically mix a nickel-sized amount of liquid Vitamin E (purchased at a local pharmacy) into my leave-in conditioner prior to styling my hair in the morning.

If nothing else, the topical application of Vitamin E will make your hair super shiny.

All that being said, Vitamin E does have wonderful moisturizing properties. You're better served to get your Vitamin E by eating foods that are rich in this substance. Try...

- wheatgerm (it can be sprinkled on just about anything without changing it's taste, especially sauces. All you need is about 1/4 cup daily to meet your Recommended Dietary Allowance or RDA).
- brown rice
- legumes (think nuts like walnuts or almonds)
