I have been there, and remember it well. At 13 I thought I was in love. And in fact I was. I will never forget that. However, at 13 there are still many many life changes that you will go through. It is because of this that love at 13 doesn't last. People grow. Opinions, lifestyle, standards, and such will change. To say that you can't honestly be in love at 13 is not fair through the eyes of a 13 year old, but a you grow older your perceptions about what love really is changes.

Yes very much so at that age you should be in school playing sports and enjoying life. Even at the age that I am which is 27 love tends to play tricks on you and it turns out to be just lust and nine times out of 10 at the age of 13 its a lust thing going on. Take time and figure out who you are and then let nature take its course it's o.k. to have friends but to be in love just wait.

At 13 you think you are in love. You really can't be in love. At 13 you can confuse being in love with eating a really good meal. They both feel really great. At 13, you cant be in love after one date. At 21, maybe. I personally feel one should not date until high school.

I doubt she is in love. She has been going out with the guy for less than 48 hours. Love is a strong emotion. I am sure she has feelings for him, yes. It's probably her first serious crush, so I am sure all it is is puppy love.

its called infatuation girl ...but hey we all go thru it....and its a learning experience...if i were your age all over again i would consider dating because then that way you can really get to know someone and not really have to make a comitment....ya know what i mean....i know alot of my friends from back then wished that they werent so much into commitment because then you spend most of you time with one person when you can be getting to know so many more ppl and figure out what you want for you and not what everyone else wants...

No what your friend is experiencing is a crush and/or an infatuation. When she gets older and looks back on this "relationship" she will laugh at herself for believing it was love.

your friend is not in love - she is embrasing a fantasy.
advise your friend that at this age, she should be focusing on her family, school and a distant 3rd would be friends..... Generally - anyone of that age in this condition is looking for some sort of attention that they are not receiving from those who should be important in their life - parents, siblings, extended family.

i would say yes....at 13 years old you have no world knowledge...no experience...what she is experiencing is infatuation...i would be careful trying to burst her bubble tho...if you tell her "you're not in love", you might just push her farther away....let her believe shes in love....they will soon be broken up and realize that it wasnt "Love".
