In reaction to the Pope's comments, some Muslims are burning churches.
My question is....are these churches Catholic?
Or are they Protestant churches which are in no way represented by the pope?

I was watching the news and it said "Christian churches" and I was wondering which denomination these churches were.

Last time I checked, the pope does not represent Anglican or Greek Orthidox churches.

Palestinians wielding guns and firebombs attacked five churches in the West Bank and Gaza on Saturday, following remarks by Pope Benedict XVI that angered many Muslims.
No injuries were reported in the attacks, which left church doors charred and walls pockmarked with bullet holes and scorched by firebombs. Churches of various denominations were targeted. Firebombings left black scorch marks on the walls and windows of Nablus' Anglican and Greek Orthodox churches. At least five firebombs hit the Anglican church and its door was later set ablaze. Smoke billowed from the church as firefighters put out the flames

I am reading/hearing about same haven't noticed which ones, to me what is the difference. It shows how dam* dumb these (Muslims mullahs) are Soon the world will wake up and realize that the dummies have hi-jacked a religion for their self gain. That's a shame, because they are good people who mean well, but they have no choice if they disagree the nuts extremists will hurt/kill them. Hell of religion who could really be proud of that? The pope was quoting a accident ruler he stated that both worship one. The dumb mullahs will always try to incite to cause problems. Answer boycott them fence them in put a wall around the dummies. Some day we will wake up Hope not to late its a war. They hate us they preach kill us. WAKE UP

As a true Muslim really sick and tired of these ingorant Sunnis and Shias. They have no knowledge about Islam all they have the emotions. Burning of Churches and hatred against all Christians must be avioded.
I did not said a word against Pope until now but feel that a person at his position must be careful when talking about others beliefs. Thats it.

The people buring them probably don't care since they could associate ANY branch of the Christian church with the pope (not all branches are connected to the Roman Catholic church but that's another topic).

Actually they are Eastern churches, not Roman Catholic. They are not represented by the pope.

I don't know which Church's are being burned, they probably would link all the Church's with the Catholics.
Maybe we would be better off without Church buildings anyway, why do we need great big buildings to meet other Christians?
