Im not saying the pope was right or wrong. but the reaction by those upset as his remarks was crazy. what are they trying to prove.
The Pope makes some remarks that taken out of the larger context of the speech could be taken as him claiming Islam is a violent religeon.
So to protest being called violent, what do they do?
Why, They firebomb two churches.
I guess that'll show 'em that Muslims aren't violent.
Can anyone explain how doing a violent act to protest being called violent shows that they are not violent?
(and don't flame me. I do not claim all Muslins are violent. I am refering to those that firebombed the Churches in protest.)

Heshoz,
Thank you for your input and I do agree that an insult to a religeous figure is something to get upset about.
I have not read the whole speech but what I gathered was that the Pope was attemting to make a point that war , in the name of God/Allah, is wrong becuase God/Allah is a a Peaceful God. The remarks that were found offensive was a quote from some Byzantine Emperor and not the beliefs of the Pope.
I know those who did the attack was wrong and everything. what I am trying to figure out is what did they think that was going to prove?

Ignorance is the cause of all violence. Most likely those who firebombed the church, were told that the pope said something bad about Muhammad, and were not told exactly what it was, so they got angered and blew up the churches, I am sure if they would have knew exactly what it was they would not have fire bombed the churches. However, it is extremely wrong to blame Muslims for the firebombings, you have to blame those particular individuals. Churches have been attacked by atheists throughout history, and the blame did not go on atheism.
You made a contradiction within the same paragraph when you wrote:
"Why, They firebomb two churches. I guess that'll show 'em that Muslims aren't violent."
and then wrote
"I do not claim all Muslims are violent. I am refering to those that firebombed the Churches in protest."
There is no way you can blame Muhammad for the violence of some Muslims, the pope made a big mistake by blaming Muhammad for the violence of some Muslims. The pope claims that the Quran calls for the spread of Islam by the sword, yet the Quran says the opposite. If the people that firebombed the church were Muslims, they are ignorant of the Quran, because the Quran condemns such mischief, and the Quran calls for Muslims to be especially good to Christians and other People of the Book. Also the Quran condemns hypocrite Muslims as the real enemies of Islam, the true Muslims should fight the hypocrite Muslims that claim killing of civilians and suicide bombing is Islamic, even though the Quran clearly condemns suicide and killing of innocent civilians.
I think eventually all Muslims will realize that the terrorist Muslims are not fundamentalist but in fact hypocrites, and thus the real enemies of Islam, once they realize this fact, the terrorist Muslim leaders will get defeated by their own followers. There is an ignorant culture among non-Arab Muslims in the Old World, that they will get a better chance of going to heaven by reading the Quran in Arabic, a language they don't understand, so the only knowledge of Islam they have is of hearsay, leading many young non-Arab Muslims that want to be religious, to get attracted to the violent appeals of terrorists that seem more religious than the anti-terrorist Muslims. Christian, Jewish and Islamic scriptures strongly condemn terrorism and genocide, yet Muslim jihadists, Christian crusaders and Jewish zionists claim they do their genocide/terrorism for their religion. The problem is ignorance not religion.

Ironic and counter productive if they're trying to show us how non-violent they are. All they've done is shown the world that the pope is correct.
People insult Christ all the time, but we don't run around burning down their houses or threatening to kill them. The only way to stop the islamic violence is for muslims to get together and stop them. They certainly aren't listening to us.

Ok to start with, im muslim and young, moved out here 4 years ago, and i went through so much at school and everywhere else just because im muslim. When they firebombed those churches they probably only did that because they were upset and then they r tryin to say "islam is not violent, this is violence."

Usually, when someone blasts Christianity in the same way, Christians do the civilized thing and just write letters to the editor.
Committing violence to protest being portrayed as violent is always counter-productive, if not ironic.

They are displaying the face of radiscal Islam, pure and simple. We dont need the popes words to show the world what they are like, but they certainly showed the world the reality of what was said.

It's the radicals, the terrorists that are committing acts of violence. Not true Muslims. It's just like the "Christians" who are against murder so they go out and bomb the abortion clinics and kill the nurses and doctors inside. They do not represent the Christian community as a whole.

"it because they care a lot about something that isnt actual" No. you're the only which cares about issues that are not actual. "look im trynna keep souls so like the better variety and extra heated responses i'm getting in basic terms shows im correct." No again - this shows not something of the form. in a lot of circumstances once you get quite some human beings shouting you're incorrect at you it would want to be wise to re-evaluate your own position. "God i actual, you recognize it." no again - you imagine it. "God i actual, you recognize it. like i stated, ou dont ought to style it, in basic terms dont turn faraway from him on your heart. im not searching for someone to disprove me, you cant because God is actual AND he has proved it previous the shadow of one hundred atheists doubt. i had absolutley no determination yet to trust when I requested him to educate it to me. over over overwhelming amout of info." Care to quote some or are you deluding your self? "i trust now because i recognize hes actual. no shaking my idea, yet i recognize that contained in the responses your not attempting to shake my idea your in basic terms exhibiting your own insecureness." incorrect again - you in basic terms prefer to trust that i'm insecure (it props your own shaky position up). regrettably for you i'm really take care of in my position. "look at it like this, I easily have not something to educate yet atheist do." again you're incorrect. because you're the only making the severe declare, you're the only which needs to latest the severe info to educate your declare. (it really is straightforward stuff youngster) "they are so at a loss for words." latest a daft theory and attempt to describe it. the outcome's confusion (so seeming). in actual reality God is perplexing because its garbage - it makes no experience. "so bypass ahead. clarify in detail, or some opposite direction, why we'd want to consistently not trust because you dont trust." There are not any causes you need to not trust because i do not trust - you would possibly want to look into the entire question of God with a severe and uncompromising eye - one which would not enable for self relaxing issues. "i made paragraphs, does that help you've faith." trust - no in spite of the undeniable fact that it facilitates me examine. (thanks) next you may artwork on capitalisation and spelling .. ;-p
