Hi Chiquita,

My fiance and I have always had a nice time in Philadelphia. If you go to www.priceline.com request a 4-5 star hotel starting around $50 in the "Center City" area and see what you can get. There are some great places to eat and neat things to see. The Museum of Art is beautiful and takes a full day to get around, the Rodin Museum is also pretty nice. There are some great little shops throughout the city, and Eastern State Penitentiary is an interesting day tour, too. Also, Longwood Gardens located a little bit outside of Philly are absolutely beautiful.

If you are on a "tight" bidget, I would suggest saving on the hotel and spending a little more on dinner. Looking for a good steak, seafood, Italian, Cuban?!?!?! You can get them ALL in Philly!

Check out www.gophila.com and see if anything tempts your interests. I think it's a great place to go to, especially this time of year. The great thing is that you can take the Philly Phlash (a trolly/bus system) around the city for only $1 a ride. You can park the car and enjoy someone else taking you everywhere you need to go.

Have fun and enjoy wherever you end up going!

I live in Utica, NY, It is 5 hours drive from NY, I know that many people from NY come here to rest in a hotel by an Orthodox Monastery. It is a cheap, very clean and pleasant place, very serene, because it is away from town. They have very good food too. And you could visit Howe Caverns, it is just about 40 mins drive from the monastery, but it is worth it, walk in those amazing caves underneath the ground. And there is a boat trip in an underground river. It is a romantic place, many people get married in Howe Caverns. http://www.howecaverns.com/ The ticket is just $17. And there is Landis Arboretum close to the caves, it is like a huge beautiful public garden full of different species of flowers and trees, and it is free.
Is it romantic enough?
Oh, and if you want to go only to the hotel, you can easily get there and back by train. email me if you want the address of the hotel.

The Hyatt in Jersey City, NJ has a spectacular view of the Hudson River and NYC skyline, as well as a terrific restaurant. They offer weekend romance packages with breakfast and champagne upon arrival. One way fare on the PATH train costs $1.50 per person.

Any getaway would be nice. Ever think about going to Niagra Falls.
This is what I normally book for my clients because its inexpensive and a beautiful place. Besides the breath taking water fall there's plenty more there to do.
Let me know if you would like for me to give you some hotel and/or airfare prices.

When my family and I go on vacation we usually book through travelzoo.com. They always seem to have great deals. Also, check the "last minute deals." They are usually marked down quite a bit so the hotels and airlines won't get stuck with empty rooms and seats.
