Turkeys don't lay that many eggs, and the ones they do lay are used to produce more turkeys.

Chickens have been bred for hundreds of years to be egg producers. They lay about 300 eggs per year. Turkeys only lay about 100 eggs per year, and most of those go towards raising turkeys for Thanksgiving and such. Plus they have different habits while taking care of the eggs that doesn't allow easy collection. Someone would have to do a serious breeding program to get turkeys up to the same level as chickens for egg production.

most turkeys wont give them up like the chicken. walk up to a chicken and he will run, walk up to turkey and it will run at you. so we as people prefer to fry a chicken then get bit by a turkey...
