Well my ex and i always used to be aqual and when we went out we would pay half and half, although he liked to pay for most things i didnt feel right, so one time we were in a resturant and when the waiter told us how much it was and i went to take my card out a couple on the next table gave me such a dirty look. obviously she was a gold digger but dont u think its important to be equal in a relationship

I agree, my desire in a relationship is that my love is equal. Though I wouldn't make a big deal about having to pay the full bill or my partner doing the same, across numerous nights out it balances. Though I wouldn't be reconciling at the end of the month!!

it sounds wierd, but i don't let my man pay for things either, i only ever let him pay for drinks. recently he went to turkey and brought me a pink and white diamond necklace and bracelet and i hit the roof cos i told him from the beginnig not to buy me anything. so don't worry about this stupid woman giving u looks, she just doesn't know the value of a pound. also if ur man's happy to pay, then don't argue with him about it, he obviously cares

Who really cares about how someone looks at you. To me if I go on a date with my male companion it depends on who's idea it was in the first place to go out, for instance if I asked him to go out to eat than I would pay and he would put the tip down and vice versa if he asked me out.

years ago i had a girlfriend who would pass some money under the table so it looked good. at first i dont mind but if u date for awhile sharing is a good thing to me anyway. My wife and I have shared accounts we share our money.

You shouldn't care what other people think.
But for me I feel its best if the man pays most of the time, and you pay sometimes. But half and half is horrible, its like counting up the pennies and not romantic at all.

i personally don't think it matters who pays. if you were in real relationship for a long time, you guys should both pay at one time or another. you can't make the guy pay all the time.
