I just looked at a sample MCAT test today, and I noticed that the questions weren't that hard. Is it "over-rated." I've heard that other tests like the PCAT are much harded.

Haha... well, it all depends I guess. There's no calculus on the MCAT, and they recently added calculus to the PCAT. However, the MCAT covers 1 year of college biology, 1 year of college physics, 1 year of college chemistry, and 1 year of college organic chemistry; its a lot of material, but if you know it really well its not so bad. I didn't mind it so much, at least.

I think the main reason it has such a reputation for being hard is because the medical school application process is extremely competitive, so its very important to do well on the MCAT.

Try going to the mcat site and taking their sample test. some of the questions are not that difficult, but for many people, the essays are impossible.

Not really. You should be okay if you've taking some biology, general & orgo chem & physics, and buy a review book before hand to study. I wouldn't recommend taking those prep courses as I found mine to be a waste of money.
