Do chef's actually put vodka in penne vodka?

I was eating some and thought I tasted vodka, and I don't know if it's just my imagination.

Of course! Maybe the chef either put too much in, or didn't cook it off. It's one of my favorite dishes to make. Homemade tomato sauce with onion and garlic, seasonings, Italian sausage, herbs, a hearty splash of vodka, and then when you think it's cooked off, add a splash of cream or half and half. I love this dish. Heck, I might make it for dinner tonight!

Yes it does. But rest assured, you won't get drunk by eating it.

My FAVORITE!!! Yes, usually. My girlfriend makes it without vodka (its the bomb).

I live across from NYC in Weehawken, NJ-- come try it here at Luna's pizza-- it is wicked good :)
