If I am driving I talk to my husband or if I am alone I start singing and looking at the faces of the other drivers as they see me wailing, if I am a passenger since I can't read because I get nauseous I start making funny faces at little kids in other cars...that never fails to amaze me, there are some kids that tell their moms about me and when the parent looks at you you sit upright and look completely innocent, some other times I look at the clouds and try to see the shape they have and discuss them with whomever is in the car.
If I want to be obnoxious I start reading all the publicity I see.

I live in a remote area and have at least a one hour drive anywhere. I have found the best thing is comedy cd's. The Blue Collar Tour is actually quite hilarious. Listening to the jokes with someone in the car is quite a hoot. That Larry the Cable Guy will have you absolutely in stitches. I also like books on tape, but my husband will not listen to those anymore. The comedians are a great way to go, it helps pass the time and when you pass people on the road you will look like you are having a good time!

Assuming you are a passenger, Sudokos, Crosswords, read a book. Alternatively, make up sayings using the letters from the cars overtaking or in front, e.g. 123 ABC - a big country etc. etc. Otherwise just have a kip.

Music my friend music play tunes u wouldn't normally listen to and sing a long with it is so much fun for me its the Bee Gees.

If I'm travelling w/someone, we "bet" on how far it will be to a broken down vehicle on the roadside. The loser (the one w/the most incorrect guesses) pays for dinner.
