Or do you have to believe in Jesus to be a nice, caring person with strong morals?

It is indeed possible to have morals and be well-mannered if you are not Christian. But it is not possible 100% of the time.

Jesus offers salvation for sinners--those of us who do not act morally 100% of the time.

You can have good morals and be well-mannered even if your not a Christian, however, it will not get you into heaven. The only thing that will get you into heaven is by placing your faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Given the fact Christians are a minority in the world population, if we accept the idea that only Christians have morals, that means the majority of the world is immoral or amoral.

And, based on what I've seen of "Christian morals," there is nothing to indicate Christians have morals that are superior to anyone else's.

Yes it is possible, but having morals and being well-mannered will not get you into heaven. You must have Jesus as your savior. Grace and Peace.

At first I would say no, but honestly morals are deeply attached to Jesus and his faith. Even when you think you are non-Christian, but you care enough to have good morals and compassion for others. Deep inside you there is a base of Christianity.

Of Course it is possible. As a Christian, I only wish that people that are not Christian someday know the Peace of Christ, and the feeling that you are never alone when you have Christ in your life. It is wonderful to have that belief and knowledge. But there are nice people everywhere, with great morals and I have known a married couple like that. Upon his death bed, he told me that he hoped I was right about Christ and heaven. I pray for his soul.

Peace be with you and yours!

I know lots of people who are Taoist, Moslem, Hindu, Rasta, Buddhist who are kind and have strong morals. Those religions are good in their way, and have good teachings. The difference is when you believe and follow Yeshua He makes His home inside your heart and mind. You have a relationship with a real living Savior, instead of just following the teachings of a religion. And no matter how hard we try to follow the rules of any religion we always fail because as humans we are imperfect. With Yeshua as our Savior we can be absolutely sure we are loved by Him and saved forever because it's not the good works we do that saves us, even though to love Jesus makes us want to do good. It is the work of Yeshua on the cross that saves us and makes us children of God regardless of our mistakes. We don't have to die for our own sins because Yeshua gave His life for us, and paid our way into heaven.

No, morals existed before Jesus or a bible.

It is sad that many believe they cannot be moral and good people without these "rules" and "love" from an imaginary man/god.
