I studied astronautics/aerospace engineering at a very good college in the US but upon graduation I had to go back to my native country for various reasons (I am not a US citizen). There is no field of work in my country where I can use my skills as an engineer. I am desperately seeking to work as an engineer in the States. Would I be able to obtain an employer-sponsored visa? How would I go about doing that? Much thanks.

Target companies and apply.

Sign up on the various web sites that post job openings such as monster.com. Apply stating that you would need to be sponsored. If there is a shortage of your field in the states then companies will sponsor you.
