I am a Mormon, and proud of it, and I'm sick on why people beat on and make fun of us for our beliefs. We believe a Man was called of God, and saw an Angel directing him to translate the Golden Plates, into what is now the Book of Mormon.
Why don't you guys make fun of Buddhism while you're at it? Hinduism? Islam? Why do you people have to bash us down? It is our beliefs, please respect it.
The reason why us Mormons practiced polygamy was because way back then when women didn't have rights, when the husband died, they lost everything, Land, house, children, etc. So we used plural marriage to prevent this, not for pleasure. We have banned plural marriaged to this day because there is no need for it.
And Damn the mormons who still practice polygamy for pleasure. They scar and make the true Mormons, the Latter Day Saints look bad.
And we Believe that Satan/Lucifer was once a Heavenly Son, like us all, but simply turned away. We still worship the same Jesus Christ, and not JS.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Define Mormon

Mormons, Buddhists, Hindus, and Islamics are all wrong but I dont make fun of any one of those groups. The first three are wrong because they are polytheistic but there is only One True God, and the last is wrong because that God is not Allah.

If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Son of God and that He was sent here to die for our sins, then you are NOT Mormon. Mormons and Muslims and Historians may in fact believe that Jesus was real but so does Lucifer and his angels.

I am a Christian that disagrees with the Mormon faith. However, I still respect your beliefs and in no way condone the bashing of Mormons or any other religious group. I dated a Mormon girl for about a year. She was the perfect the girl for me. Our only problem was that we disagreed on religious beliefs. We tried to meet each other half way but we were unable to. However we still remain friends.

I usually don't pick on Mormons but your beliefs are not from the Bible and are contrary to basic Bible beliefs.
Satan was an Angel, Buddhist do not profess to worship a God and Muslims worship a moon God. The little you have said declassifies you as Christians. Sorry, My daughter in-law was a Mormon and is now a Christian. The saved people from your order will yield to the word of God and come out.

when your missionaries quit rapping on my door at 9 in the morning, even though there is a huge pentagram on it and a sign that says NO BIBLE THUMPING. and when your church begins to make sense to me than i will respect it,

i agree that you have the right to believe whatever you want.
but i have the same right, ans i should not have to deal with people rapping on my door trying to convert me.

furthermore, in my quest for religion i tried the mormon church.
i found it to be just as hyprocrytical as any other christian church.

NO church Needs a golden statue, can you think of how much suffering could have been stopped for good with the money that went into your D.C. Temple?

i gladly leave everyone alone. When will the mormon missionaries start leaving me alone?

How can I prosecute you if I am not a lawyer? I would never do that, nor would I think to persecute you either or anyone for that matter. Each will be judged on what they do, not by what anyone thinks they do or what they may think of them. If it is not true, why get angry about it? Why not just let it go and let people be ignorant if they choose to be? But if there is some truth in it, that is when you need to get angry and let it be known it is true.

I'm sorry, but I was raised to believe that the Bible was finished being written in 96 A.D. and that we did not need to "add to it."

And as far as what you said about women, its reprehensible. "Polygamy was because way back then when women didn't have rights" this is cr*p, why not advocate killing women then if they had not rights? Of course women had rights of inheritance and many other rights in America. It was people like the Mormons who took those rights away.

While I respect your right to worship your false God, I do not have to "believe" that he is the true god just to please you. No way, no how. Just the additions you did to the Bible are enough for me to believe in the fact that the LDS are WRONG! You can keep your Wisdom of the Pearl and other NEW books of convience.

First off you have to stop letting Idiots control your feeling about your religion. They have no idea as to what you are saying about J. Smith and his trials and tribulations. They can not conceive what purpose he had on this earth. So I strongly recommend that you study hard and be able to explain it to those that are looking for knowledge and understanding. You have to know how hard it is to explain his communication with God, And what purposes God, had given to him to accomplish and the sacrifices that he would have to make in order That he would be able to spread God's, truth. J. Smith paid a high price so all you would have to do is teach Also you should know what to do when you enter a barren mind that corrupted by Satan....................

Lets all face it together, ALL religions all have some truth and false about them, because none of them are the true church... Jesus Christ is the true church.

So can we all be nice to one another, we all need to word it in such a way that we don't hurt bash feelings, I think we can act like Jesus, perhaps that may help, and if you don't believe in Jesus, well just think before you say something:)

Then why do you distort scriptures to meet your theology rather than conforming your theology to the scriptures?

In terms a theologian would use, it is improper exegesis to determine your viewpoint and then interpret the scripture to comply with your point of view. Exegesis, the SCIENCE of Biblical interpretation, is an approach to learning the TRUE meaning of scripture. It violates its foundation principles of the science to use an un-scientific basis to begin your study, like interpreting a passage to lead to a predetermined outcome. Exegesis done in this way is meaningless.

"Elders" in the mormon church belie an improper exegesis. The New Testament clearly describes elders as being mature married men with Christian children. How then do you call 20 year old guys "elder?"

1Timothy 3:1 Here is a saying you can trust. If anyone wants to be a leader in the church, he wants to do a good work for God and people.
2 A leader must be free from blame. He must be faithful to his wife. In anything he does, he must not go too far. He must control himself. He must be worthy of respect. He must welcome people into his home. He must be able to teach. 3 He must not get drunk. He must not push people around. He must be gentle. He must not be a person who likes to argue. He must not love money. 4 He must manage his own family well. He must make sure that his children obey him and show him proper respect. 5 Suppose someone doesn’t know how to manage his own family. Then how can he take care of God’s church? 6 The leader must not be a new believer. If he is, he might become proud. Then he would be judged just like the devil. 7 The leader must also be respected by those who are outside the church. Then he will not be put to shame. He will not fall into the devil’s trap.

Tit 1:6 An elder must be without blame. He must be faithful to his wife. His children must be believers. They must not give anyone a reason to say that they are wild and don’t obey. 7 A church leader is trusted with God’s work. That’s why he must be without blame. He must not look after only his own interests. He must not get angry easily. He must not get drunk. He must not push people around. He must not try to get money by cheating people. 8 Instead, he must welcome people into his home. He must love what is good. He must control his mind and feelings. He must do what is right. He must be holy. He must control what his body longs for. 9 The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.
(1Peter 5:1-2 uses all 3 Greek word roots used in the New Testament discussing leadership of the local church in context referring to the same group of people. Elder, bishop or overseer, and shepherd or pastor are used interchangeably in the text. These are not differing levels of leadership, but all the same level.)

Apostles: The text says nothing of a continuing need for apostles. We know the events surrounding the death of several apostles and these men did not seek to pass on their roll to the next generation. The New Testament makes no provision for the continuation of apostleship and no one alive in the last 1900 years meets the requirements that the apostles used in replacing Judas after his suicide. - This is in line with Paul's instruction to the church in Corinth.

1Co 13:8 Love never fails. But prophecy will pass away. Speaking in languages that had not been known before will end. And knowledge will pass away. 9 What we know now is not complete. What we prophesy now is not perfect. 10 But when what is perfect comes, the things that are not perfect will pass away. "Perfect" and "complete" are the same Greek word throughout. Once the Holy Spirit had led the apostles "all truth" nothing further was needed. John 16:13 But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own. He will speak only what he hears. And he will tell you what is still going to happen.
