My father's brother died during the war(WW2) and is buried(we believe) in Hobart, Tasmania.How to find him,???

We want to find which regiment he served with during the war. Is there an archival military database that we could research, or if he is actually buried in Hobart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My dads brother was killed in WW2 and I think the way my sister found his burial place was to go thru the Navy somehow and ask them where he was buried.
