Love: noun or verb. Love can also be altered to be an adjective or adverb. Love is complex, thus requiring all the modifiers. Love has many forms in other languages. Maybe others understand it better than English speakers.
Love is generally a feeling. It is a good feeling. It encourages behavior that benefits others. It encourages self-sacrifice. Love can also be a lust. That form encourages self satisfaction. Examples include lusting after a food or property. Love is also related to appeal. A beautiful object is described as lovely. Love also is used to describe behavior attributed to the emotion: they behaved in a lovely manner. That usage also describes behavior that is approved. There are many other ideas associated with love. If you follow the "golden rule" in the Bible, you will demonstrate love.

Love is a profound feeling of tender affection for or intense attraction to another. The thing about falling in love, is that if you do it right, you never have to hit the ground.

To me love is something that you feel in your heart. Like every time you think of them, you start to smile. Something that is uncontrollable. It is a wonderful thing to experience.

I am still trying to figure out exactly what it is. I just know that when someone you love breaks your heart, it hurts like hell.

The best definition of love is found in the Bible - 1st Corinthians chapter 13.
The best example of love is the gift of Jesus Christ given to mankind from God - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Jesus, through His death and resurrection, made God accessible to sinful men, women, and children...
Love is forgiving and for giving...
Love is also placing another's needs above your own...

Well... I believe there is only one true love, and that's the love of Jesus. His is the only selfless, all-consuming, all-accepting love....it surpasses ALL understanding. Once you experience it, your question becomes one easily answered. We're all searching for love, but we'll always feel like there's something missing until we find the love of Jesus.
