Well I live with a chevy guy, but I sell fords, well i should say he's an ex chevy guy, quality and safety of fords is far superior now, they use alot of volvo technology and have some of the safest cars on the highway today! The trucks are still and have been outselling chevy trucks for 29 years. fully boxed frame, actually takes 36,000 pds of presure to even bend that frame. quiet steel between the cab and engine. Fix Or Repair Daily might of been your daddy's ford but it isn't with the new generation of fords. Check the stats, ford is in the top ten of the JD powers 3 yr study of dependability while chevy is at the bottom.

I've been a chevy fan ever since i heard the rumble of grandpa's 70 corvette 454. However, I could really care less about the brand as long as the car is fast(and cool). Does any one else agree? Why must we be like cats and dogs? Did you know within the past few years chevy and ford worked together on a 6sp auto trans that they will both likely use a derivative of in the near future. With the way things are going these days, The camaro and mustang may share a platform in the future!

Well i must say that the older Chev's, pre 2000,were quite easy to work on, a 454 would bolt up where a 350 used to reside, were as a ford required differend transmission which made interchange quite difficult, all of the newer vehicles are all the same, exspensive to fix, need rocket science technology in order to repair, scanerrs are nice but damn, who has an extra 5 grand to buy one.
i do drive a ford(99Taurus wagon), it was cheap and hauls my family around, had pulled engine out of wagon to change oil pan gasket and torque seal, oil pan gasket was 100 bux, i couldnt believe that ,i bought a complete gasket set for my 70 LT1 350 chevy.
It all boils down to choice and preference i guess, im a muscle car freak so i love all makes, i just prefer working on chevies, unless its by the hour lol. GL with your answwers

I just wanna know why people ask these types of questions? You know there are going to be a thousand and one different answers because everyone has a thousand and one different opinions. "Well I like Chevy because everyone in my family owned one" or " Fords rock because thats all I drive". If you want to go start a chat room or a forum where you can talk about your favorite car till the cows come home.
Sorry just had to vent a little. Thank you.

Ford has the F Series truck.
The best selling truck for 29 years in a row over Chevrolet.
That is leadership.
The Ford Mustang is selling like crazy, forcing Cheverolet was
to respond with a cobbled up Camaro for 2009.

i don't really get into the whole debate. I drive a 99 corvette. it is my dream car. i love everything about it. it is a great car. i also have an 89 Ford F250. it is like new inside and out. it has a little over 115K, and runs as good today as when my father bought it new. personally, i think you should buy/drive a car based on if you like the car, not based on the nameplate. i think some people get way too caught up in names, it is childlike and silly. anyway, the only other issue i have is the poor design of cars when it comes to maintenance. car makers make cars so hard to work on, it drives me crazy.
