I'm not talking about sin, but rather the choice to make up your own mind about what career you path you want to take, how much free time you spend enjoying your life and other such issues.

God made you who you are. He made us different for a reason. People that you may attract, I may not attract. He does not want to make you different just better, give you liberty, peace and joy.

When you love Him you want to please Him. You'll find so much satisfaction in doing His will for you. Suddenly, you have purpose and destiny.

You still have free time and career paths. You just do what you do to glorify Him.

With that type of stuff I try to pray about that and ask for His guidance. And I try not to do anything I don't feel peace about. And Jesus came so you could have and enjoy your life to the full until it overflows, does that mean life is all play and no work, no, but that we should learn to enjoy every aspect of our life, do it all with joy. You CAN choose do what you want, but if you are really trying to live totally surrendered (which I am still working on) in the big things you should seek Him because He know what is best for you and maybe your family if you have one. If you want to live in His perfect will for your life and accomplish what He created you for, I would say consult Him. The Bible says..In all your ways acknowledge Him and He wil direct your steps. So I would acknowledge Him in all things and let Him direct my steps, even if it meant doing something that made no sense to me, and of course He's not going to lead me to do anything foolish like commit a crime. I believe we get ourselves into the worst messes just for lack of prayer and asking God what to do. But thankfully, He has got me out of a few messes in my life, even after I didn't listen or sometimes just said nah, I think this is right, I'll do this when deep down I knew I probably shouldn't. God is so good though, He still stays right there with me even when I mess up.

You still have freedom of choice. God gives us that option, which He does it so we can look to Him for the answers. Let's say, God wants you to be a missionary, but you say, No I want to be a firefighter. Ok so you made that choice, but you rebelled against God. Rebellion is a very major sin. It is a sin to not do God's Will. The outcome of that choice you made will be drastic.

One reason why peopel do not want to follow or accept Jesus is because they do not want to submit there entire life to Him. We do have that choice, but our one deicions will lead to destruction.

Man cannot make it on their own, for we need Jesus to be our guiding light. Not surrendering you life is a sin, because you puts other gods before Him. And gods can be anything, something that you love more than Him.

Surrender to Christ mean's that you give Christ first place in every area of your life: Your Family, your finances, your home, your job. You have the freedom to choose the job that you want but when you are working there, do all you do as if you were working for Him. Not just your earthly boss. In obey your boss on the job, remember that it is God who placed him in authority over you. Always pray for God's guidance in every aspect of your life.

May God bless you in all things.

doesnt mean that at all. We still have a choice to follow christ or not. We can enjoy our life without letting the "world" contaminate it. Letting Christ lead is so freeing. Jesus us calls us to "take up our cross and follow him" doesnt mean we sell all we have and go live in a monistary (sp?) somewhere. We need the support of other christians.

You always have free choice. Surrendering your life to Christ means that you have faith in God's plan and that you chose freely to do as Christ would do. Making your choices of work, family, path that will be more pleasing to God and His plan for you, with sincere prayer.

Of course not, dear. God gave us free will. That means that we choose. Surrendering your life to Christ means that you choose to worship Him as your savior. It doesn't mean that you sit in an empty church until He appears and tells you what to do next. Stop worrying - you are on the right path.

Of course not. You can still choose to do whatever you want. What you have to be prepared for are the consequences for those choices.

Best rule of thumb is pray before you make a decision, ask others to pray for you, then get confirmation from them & God before you make your choice.

I've found that most everyday decisions are already addressed in the Word.

the whole point of mortal life is to make choices, you always have a choice. Turning your life over to Jesus is a good thing but Jesus would never want you to give up your free will, He would just hope you make good choices.

Not at all.
Seek His guidance. Ask that His will be done in your life.
Then consider your alternatives, determine the best course of action and proceed trusting in Him.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy path.
