I just seem wake up too early in the am like 3 and 4 am. I've eliminated coffee for a long time now and any other caffienated drinks. I just seem to sleep lighter and am tired all the time.

I do agree with the first answer there too! but also try not reading or watching tv in bed, don't go to bed until you are tired. Maybe a glass of warm milk before going to bed too, that sounds gross to me but I have heard it works. If you do wake up in the middle of the night I have heard you should get up for a while, not sure if I would do that or not, maybe try lying there and breathe real deep and slow counting to 10.

Yes, I have for years at a time. It was horrible. But I came to this conclusion: Most people live about 70-90 years and during that time there a periods of good sleep and no sleep. It is part of life. The main thing is not to stress out about it. That only makes it worse. The following will help you achieve balance in yourself and return you to normal sleep. Each morning you can quickly write down and take an inventory on a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being the best): how you feel in each of these categories - emotional, physical, spiritual, mental. The categories that are lowest on the scale you will do things for yourself to raise the score closer to 10. Pamper yourself for instance, get a massage or pedicure, read a book, visit a loved one, go swimming, take a bath with epsom salts, walk in the park and be near nature (the best healer), meditate, yoga, play at a hobby instead of watching TV, you get the idea.

How long have you had the problem? If it persists I would see your doctor. You could have sleep apnea.

I had a similar problem with feeling tired all the time and waking up in the middle of the night. My doctor had me do a sleep test. I found out I had a very mild case of sleep apnea.

For those who have a more severe case there are c-pap machines that clear up your breathing. It has to do with your airwaves being constricted.

You can do a Yahoo Search for "sleep apnea" and see what symptoms come up.

Good luck to you!

I have found that taking the time to say a few prayers every evening helped me.
