I don't think it should be either; I think it should be personal, and only shared if asked about.

Having God as your friend is a good thing but proud is not the right word. Pride goes b4 the fall. that means you experience pride like you take credit somehow and then this leads you the wrong way and you faw down go boom. Apparently there are lotsa folks out there who go boom. I say that cuz i am really ashamed of their conduct.
God prescibes accountability for the leaders and the followers (letters to Tim. and gospel Mat 18) but people with their own prideful agandas do not teach these and lazy people or perhaps the ones who do not actually love God and His Word do not read or practice it I am not sure which, but it is giving true friends a bad name. Pride is the root cause.

Religious belief is something personal. There is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of your beliefs, rather be proud of yourself that you have a strong, sense of your beliefs and convictions. Not everybody will agree with your beliefs, but then we are all entitled to our own religious preferences. Whether you believe in God, Allah, or Buddha, etc., stand strong in your faith and be proud of yourself.

If you are ashamed of your belief then I would wonder how much do you really believe what oyu claim to believe- why would you feel ashamed of it, unless you know it was wrong.
As for proud, we should be confortable and sure about what e belive that we may give an answer in any season, boasting not in ourselves but in the Lord.

It 's certainly nothing to be ashamed of. I'm a Christian and am not ashamed to say so nor do I walk around shouting it out. I think if you're ashamed of your beliefs something's wrong. Either you aren't comfortable with them or you find something about it that makes you feel shame. That doesn't sound right. I'd be worried about someone who is ashamed of their religious beliefs.

It is something to not be ashamed of, but I wouldn't say it makes me proud, it actually humbles me.
Other religions like Mormonism are actually lifted by their views and it contradicts biblical facts.

I find it astonishing that anyone can be proud of abdicating reason to believe in something a priori.

What is there to be proud of in that?

Neither. Just keep your 'religion' to yourself! It causes too much trouble in the first place. MORE blood has been spilled because of "Religion" than ANY other reason.

Just look at the world today. ...perfect example!!!

I'm very proud to be an Atheist.

I think that is the problem. People get all "puffed-up" on their religion and show no respect for others.
As the Bible says, its best to be humble.

It's not about religion it's about relationship.

It was the religious that crucified Jesus.

Those that had a relationship loved and followed him and still do!
