76 F body? Not real high on the collectable market. A Trans Am would be better. For a check of going prices check http://www. traderonline.com

On the bright side there is a huge after market in resoration & car parts for it. The engine bay will handle just about any GM motor or trans from the last 35 years. So depending on the cars body? $1000 for the car tops, then expect to spend another $1-3 k on a power train. Subtract for bad floors and 1/4 panels.

Sight unseen,I would venture a guess that you will have far more to do than just drop in a motor and tranny. If it sat that long you may have issues with brake lines and other chassis components.Still, it is a classic and if the body and interior are good to very good,In my opinion an offer of $750 or so probably wouldn't insult him.

'76 Camaro was one of the worst ever built, everything in it and attached to it are made of inferior materials and workmanship. If you want it as an oddity offer $400.00, (providing the floors haven't rusted away.)
