My husband's dad has bipolar and he has yelled at me and called me obscene names when i was only minding my own business and did him no harm.

Holly G should get involved with a bipolar group for support. I think we are dealing with a bipolar person and living around him is a challenge. I do what my dad told me to do long ago---sit down and shut up your mouth to keep your guts warm. It helps. He makes me nervous let alone my daughter. On the other hand, having two kids to close in age is a challenge also.

It's my understanding that Bipolar exhibits itself in dramatic changes in mood.
Sadness, Happiness, Compulsiveness, Restlessness, Etc. It seems the person is never simply calm...
