If you get one then go for a good one. If you get the flimsy ones that don't have heavy metal or good rust-resistant composition and a sound-deadening layer underneath you will regret going with them. Get the best one you can afford and you will enjoy it for the rest of your life with no grief from it.

Stainless steel sinks are the best, we have one in both our kitchen's and they have lasted us for almost 6 years. Basically they last forever if I were you I would get one, as they not only look nice, and last long, but they also require less replacement, if any at all. As for having to wipe it down, that’s more for the stainless steel fridges I find, but for a sink you don't really need to because it is a sink, so don't worry about maintenance.
Hope this helps you!

Get the stainless. They look really nice and don't necessarily have to be wiped down after every use. Only if they are dirty and in that case, so would any other sink. I have always had stainless steel, and would never want anything else.

I have a white porcelain sink and want to replace it with stainless steel. My sister had a stainless steel and I loved it. I thought it was much easier to keep clean and it dosen't chip like mine does. I would say go out and get it!

Well, if you don't want to see water spots, then yes, you'll need to wipe it down. But, it's a sink, after all! I have always had one, and they wipe clean easily, don't require any special cleaners, and they last and last and last. I rinse mine down daily and wipe with a wet cloth, but I don't dry it or polish. If you want it to look like it should be in a magazine, use Stainless Magic or plain Baby Oil to wipe it down.
But, for day to day use, stainless is a great way to go!

I love mine, had it for 10+ years. When I'm done with the dishes I just rinse it out, If something sets in it for a while, I use comet to clean it. This is all I have ever used and it still looks like new.

Congratulations...You have permanently anodized your sink. You created an electrical field, with the right acids to anodize stainless.

i like SS sinks because they are very low maintenance and don't easily damage like a composite or porcelain sink.
