Boys wear their pants down past their waists to their hips because the boys that are doing this are "followers". These boys are not leaders and they are being sucked into a 'fashion statement' of the fashion industry.

THey are not using their own intelligence or their own minds, and saying to themselves, "hey, my pants are falling down; let me pick them up".

IF the fashion statement made sense or looked good, perhaps it might be better. But wearing one's pants down around their hips and below their butts is uncomfortable, and unsafe, and sometimes , depending on the pants or on the underwear that the boy is wearing it can be downright 'gross'.

We've all seen those boys with very huge, grossly overweight butts and dirty underwear --while they were wearing their pants down below their hips. Now, that is not a fashion statement , nor does it look good. I can't even imagine that it would feel good. (the boy's pants are falling down, and if you watch these guys, they do spend half of their day tugging at their pants so the pants do not fall down to their ankles.

Some wear their pants down like that having nothing to do with fashion or statements but wear them like that just because they like showing their butts off (for example, long ago people used to 'streak' and or 'moon' people), now these boys can technically , legally 'moon ' people and they get away with it just because some company has called it a fashion statement.


Some wear their pants like that because they are 'hand-me-downs ' from their bigger brothers--again, not a fashion statement.

Others wear them like that because they 've seen gangsters and others wear the fashion and they want to follow in those fashion footsteps.

Believe it or not, there are still others who will wear pants like that JUST to irritate and annoy their parents. IF their parents have told them to not wear them, they do the opposite.

Parents can't "make' a child wear their pants the correct way because parents do not follow their teens around . SO even if a child wears proper pants, that child can and will pull the pants down when they are out of sight of the parents. SO that's perhaps why SOME parents don't 'make' them pull the pants up.
