I would like to read it and try to get a better understanding of where they are coming from.

Yes. They usually come with an English page facing an Arabic page (the one I have has this). I got mine as part of a "Holy Book" series from the Quality Paperback Book Club.

You should be able to get one in any book store.

Yes, just keep in mind, its an interpretation. The original Arabic is very beautiful, weighty and powerful. Sometimes, it can take several english words and a few in parantheses to adequately describe a word of classical Arabic.

Also, keep in mind to pay attention to the commentary since many verses are only for specific situations in certain circumstances.

While of course it is not an official one, since it has to be in orginal language to be official. but yes there is one.

But most of where they are comming from is not what is in it, but it is how they understand it and how they use it.

Next of course even within Islam they don't agree on it, that is why you have so many split groups today, with some fighting the others like what we have in Iraq now.
