Yep. I agree. The mom's just trying to wean the pups. It's not that she doesn't still love them, it's just time they start eating instead of nursing.

The mom might have felt just a little wary when the pup was returned to her, smelling like a vets office. Let's face it, not many dogs associate that smell with good memories.

Why did you take the puppy to the vet for vaccinations at 4 weeks of age? Puppies that are fed by the dam are carry antibodies that protect them from disease until around 6 weeks of age. This is the usual time for pups to be vaccinated.

They stink like vet and she hates that. Try rubbing Vicks Vapor Rub on her nose and put them on her. The smell will wear off by the time the Vicks does.
Good news is that the pups are old enough to start eating soft dog food. Either wet kibble down with water or get canned food and water that down too. Don't use cow's milk, it causes diarrhea.
Good luck.

Mom probably feels they are old enough to wean, and they are. They should start out being fed dog food watered down to a gruel. As they get used to it you slowly cut back the water until it is just dog foof.
