It means that they are not a Christian.A Theist believes in an impersonal God who created the universe, wound it up like a clock, and just left us to our own devices. No Jesus ,no sin just whatever man.
A Theist and a Deiest are about the same thing. They both mean God (Latin and Greek)

I like your question, and I was curious to see how people would answer it. It seems that we all have friends who are believers or non-believers. As believers, we should be good examples of our faith. As friends, we should support our friends because Jesus would. It seems that even some atheists believe in supporting their friends through mutual respect.

If my friend believes in God I rejoice. Great is the Lord God the Almighty and His kingdom is forever.

I'm an atheist with lots of friends of different faiths (Christian, including High Anglican and Catholic, Muslim, Jewish and Buddhist). We get along very well indeed and never argue about religion.

Be sorry for him/her, try to explain (her) how (she) is wrong, but then, just let (him) be what (he) likes. No change as far as friendship goes. That would be ridiculous and would show you were not his/her real friend in the first place.

Peace.

If their really in my face about it, and don't respect my non-belief, then we're not meant to be friends.

Personally, i don't care. I have friends who are right-wingers, compared to my left-wing stance, and it doesnt fuss me
