would like to freeze choke cherries and would like to know if they are safe do that too

Most small fruit can be frozen.. Stay away from melons, and pineapples.. big fruit of that sort. Kiwis, cherries, grapes all those are yummy frozen over ice cream with hot fudge drizzled on top of it., just make sure that after you thaw the cherries out you don't try to refreeze them as You can get serious food poisoning. This is especially true with leftovers and meats. Thats why when i get home from the grocery store I seperate meats into smaller portions and freeze so i can take a little out at a time.

Why freeze them. Make choke cherry jelly and choke cherry wine. Wish I was you, here in AZ we don't get choke cherries like I did in ND.

Yes, and storage should be done without the pits. Once frozen, they can last quite a while.
